The P&M Group is proud to recognise and thank Steve Baker, Group Health & Safety Director, as he retires after 14 years of dedicated service.
During his time with the business, Steve has played a pivotal role in shaping and embedding a strong Health & Safety culture across the Group. Starting as a one-person function, his leadership, expertise and commitment have been instrumental in developing a knowledgeable and capable team, ensuring that Health & Safety remains a core priority across all areas of the organisation.
A Lasting Impact on Health & Safety Culture
Steve’s influence extends far beyond processes and procedures. His approach has helped foster a culture of accountability, awareness and continuous improvement, leaving a lasting legacy that will continue to benefit The P&M Group for years to come.
Prior to his career in Health & Safety, Steve played rugby for Gloucester RFC — an experience that helped shape his strong belief in teamwork, something that has been evident throughout his time with the Group.
Andy Moon, Chairman of The P&M Group, commented:
“Steve has made an outstanding contribution to the Group over the past 14 years. His passion for Health & Safety and his commitment to doing things the right way have had a lasting impact across all of our businesses. He has built not just a function, but a culture that will continue long into the future. It has been a privilege to work alongside him and have him on the team. On behalf of everyone at The P&M Group, I would like to thank Steve for his dedication and wish him a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.”
Steve Baker added:
“It has been a privilege to be part of The P&M Group over the past 14 years. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some fantastic people and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together in building a strong Health & Safety culture across the business. I leave knowing the team is in a great position moving forward, and I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the years.”
As Steve begins his well-earned retirement, we extend our sincere thanks for his dedication, guidance and significant contribution to the Group. We wish him every success for the future, with plenty of time to enjoy travel, family life and, of course, rugby.
The P&M Group would also like to wish Nick Barnett every success as he steps into the role of Group Health & Safety Manager.
